Sapporo Dome is a famous big stadium in Sapporo. It’s bigger than Tokyo Dome. It’s located in southeastern Sapporo in Hitsujigaoka. It takes about 45 minutes by car from New Chitose Airport or about 25 minutes by subway and on foot from Sapporo subway station.
Sapporo Dome is the home grounds of two teams, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo is a soccer team of J league and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters is a pro baseball team. A lot of games are held at Sapporo Dome. It’s very exciting, so most people in Sapporo love seeing them. I’m sure that you’ll enjoy it!
If you are a fan, you can also enjoy the Dome Tour. It’s a 50-minutes tour. In this tour, you can look around backstage, including the bullpens and locker rooms used by popular players. It’s a valuable experience!
Sapporo Dome is called the heart of sports and entertainment in Northern Japan because it holds not only sports events but also other events such as a real escape game, flea markets and musical concerts. For example, Arashi, a well-known pop group popular all over the world, performs there every year. I’m sure you’ll find your own favorite events!
