This food is called “IKAYAKI”. It is one of the famous dishes in Japan.
It has eaten in Hakodate, Sapporo, Rausu, and more places.
At first, IKAYAKI was born because a rice cracker chef grilled squid. In 1957, the first IKAYAKI shop opened in Osaka, Hanshin Hyakkaten. From here, IKAYAKI became popular as Japanese traditional food.
On the other hand, in Hakodate, the fishing industry has become popular and community-based since about 1950. The “Hakodate Squid Festival” is held in there. Now, Hakodate is one of the best areas for the fishing industry.
I will show you how to make “IKAMESHI”, so you can eat them anywhere if you have the ingredients.
Ingredients (for two people):Then, you need remove the squid’s organ and cut the squid’s legs.
□ A Japanese squid / two
□ Glutinous rice / 70g (you can arrange for the size of squids you cook)
□ Water /about from 500 to 600 ml
Seasoning 【A】
Second, mix glutinous rice with seasoning 【A】 and cutting the squid’s legs.
and boil them with seasoning 【B】 for
twenty-five minutes.
Don’t forget to turn it over,
then boil for the same time.
Afterwards, cut them so that you can eat easily!!
Now, you can make “IKAMESHI” by yourself!
