Shohei Otani was played for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham
Fighters in 2012. And he started to as a two way player . Two way player means
that the baseball player both bats and pitches. In 2014, he attained a new
record which no one had attained before he gained double figures in both pitching
and homeruns. At that time he attained 11 winnings pitches and 10 homeruns.
Also in 2016, he was selected as the league`s MVP and he was selected as the nineth
best both pitching and DH for the first time in history in NPB (Nippon
Professional Baseball Organization) . Also he pitched 165km/h ball speeds . At
that time and now, the record of 165km/h ball speeds which Japanese people have
pitched have were the most fastest ball speeds in NPB. In 2017 , he decided to
try to play in the MLB (Major League Baseball) in America. So he withdrew from
Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and he joined Los Angeles Angels.
About Shohei Otani in Major Challenge
He went to the U.S. in 2018 after six years
with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. At first, he tried to do the two-way
style in the United States, just as he did in Japan. As a matter of course, he
was criticized. The mass media reported that "he is licking the major
challenges." But after joining the Angels, he has continued to perform in
a way that helped them bounce back. For three years from 2018, he achieved
steady results as a two-way player. Then, in 2021, he not only hit 46 home runs
as a batter, but also recorded nine wins as a pitcher. He was called the Babe
Ruth of the present day because of this dizzying performance. Then, after the
league ended in 2021, he won the American League MVP award. He will be very
