Why is Nishikigoi famous and popular?

These days a comedy duo who was named Nishikigoi are very popular. I think there are many reasons they won M-1. M-1 is the biggest comedy tournament in Japan.

 They are the oldest people who have ever won the M-1. There are a lot of reasons why Nishikigoi are pretty famous. But I’ll show two reasons in particular.

 

First there is a super gap between Hasegawa and Watanabe. They always make funny and mysterious mood, so we can laugh.

Second when we see their comic dialogues we don’t have to think about any difficult things, so they are popular among children and adults！

Hokkaido’s celebrity, Nishikigoi

There are two men. One is Masanori Hasegawa. The other is Takashi Watanabe.Masanori says “Hello.” loudly when they start their comic dialogues. And then, Takashi says “Be shut up.” 

Masanori plays “boke” (the funny man). Takashi plays “tsukkomi” (the straight man). Boke and tsukkomi draw laughter from the audience by their comic dialogues. In Japan, there is an annual competition called “the M-1 Grand Prix” which decides the best manzai(double act) comedians. The M-1 Grand Prix is known as the gateway to success for young comedians. Only the top 9 teams who beat out thousands of competitors in the nationwide preliminary rounds plus an additional chance winner can advance to the final that is broadcast live on TV. They won the victory with their comic dialogues with 2021.

Also, Masanori has his dance. It is called Masanori-dance. You must enjoy it! Many people love them! If you have yet to watch them, let's watch them!

Nishigoi and History

Nishikigoi is a Japanese comedy duo. They became the campions at the 2021 M-1 Grand Prix. The two members are 50 year old Masanori Hasegawa and 44 year old Takashi Watanabe.

Hasegawa is from Hokkaido.

・He worked as a host after dropping out of a vocational school.

<Hasegawa's parents' house>

Nishikigoi is now mainly active in Honsyu, but Hasegawa's parents' house is in Hokkaido. Hasegawa's mother runs an izakaya in Shiroishi-ku. The name of the izakaya is "Minoya." It is famous for the cheap prices and the delicious homemade dishes. Hasegawa's mother is loved by many people because of her customer service skills and her kind personality.
